The BSM was updated to fix an issue with a Scania 2016 texture and Stobart Rail beacon error.
Waberer’s was updated to fix the look error on trailer coupling.
JR Dixon released.
This morning (or last night) SCS updated the Steam Workshop uploader tool so the Stobart Truck skins that were previously released are now updated on the Workshop.
Now that the Steam Workshop tool works I am ready to release the BSM as well.
Version 12 of the BSM (1.30.x only) is a complete rework of the mod, all AI truck models have been completely remade from scratch which should fix the last OpenGL related issue.
First the “removal” AI trucks no longer have multiple skins for different names. When I first added this feature to the mod it was for Stobart Spotters who might like the idea of spotting the numerous names.
However this caused the trucks to spawn more frequently than I would like so I have decided that 1 skin per model is the better option. It’s also better for me if the mod requires updating as there are far less files to deal with.
New additions include the Stobart Energy WoodFuel trailer, Argos, Co-Op, and of course Rainbow Valentina.
WS and Explore have also had strobe beacons added for their AI models. Only the traffic with the construction/truck cargo will use beacons. The SDC trailer versions are turned off. Like wise the Stobart Brick Trailer beacons as turned off as they are mainly used when the crane is in operation, not while driving.
Warning: Because of Rainbow Valentina, this mod will only work on 1.30.x and above.
So with open beta comes more changes, mostly COG changes for trailers to match the ATS changes that came with the Heavy Cargo DLC.
While the mods will function just fine (with warnings in the log) I have decided to update the “offline” mods today. Be aware that all the trailer/combo mods are updated for 1.28 Open Beta and will not work on older game versions.
There are 88 mods that will be updated so I am not going to list them all here. But all mods found on the combo page and company/Trailer pages should be updated including both the Big Malcolm Mod and Big Stobart Mod.
The fuel tanker pack also gained a new trailer as part of its update.
The BSM update also includes an SDC curtain for Explore and a TYCO trailer and AI combo.
For those from my FB Group wondering where the NEW things are, I will release those after 1.28ETS goes public.
First of all, ATL has been updated to version 3. The mod now includes a trailer/cargo and combo AI traffic. The mod has been moved from Truck skins to Combos page. The change also means that the mod is now 1.24 game version and above only.
The Marshalls combo has been updated to fix the AI beacon.
The Big Stobart Mod also gets a major version change to Version 8. Updates include full 1.24 compatibility, ai driver node update, and the removal of the Stobart Transporters.
Please note because of the significant trailer changes in 1.24x trailers that are update will NOT work with 1.23x or older game versions.
If you plan to stay on 1.23x or older, do not update trailer mods from this point.
On that note lets talk about updates. There are several updates I need to make for ETS2 1.24x.
The first set of updates, trailer height and advanced coupling collisions have all been done and the mods are ready to go. However there are some “issues”. Unfortunately Blender doesn’t like animations, this means there is no possible way for me to include the new animation for trailer legs on mod trailers. My only hope is that the original authors will update their trailers.
For SCS model trailers I am able to use the SCS animation, so some trailers will have animated legs.
The next update is AI traffic related. The node for the driver in AI traffic has changed, this means in old AI traffic you will see the driver too low and too far forward. Essentially head-butting the steering wheel with their legs poking out of the front of the vehicle.
Because I wanted to rush out the advanced trailer compatibility I chose NOT to update AI traffic in my AI trucks/trailer combo packs. This will be done at a later date. The good news is, I have been planning on updating the Stobart AI Scanias as I felt they were too decimated and looks a bit fuzzy, so this change also gives me a reason to remake the Scania AI trucks. My AI van traffic will be the first to get the AI driver fix, followed by Stobart and then most likely alphabetical order for everything else.
Below is a list of all the mods I have updated (basically all trailers) if you think I have missed something please let me know. Also be aware, because I have rushed these updates out it is possible I have missed something that might cause a crash, if this is the case please do let me know. Hopefully I caught all the issues though. I’ve run all the mods through validate without issue so I should have caught any potentially CTD problems.

Just a quick note, within moments of releasing the BSM 7.0 I realised there was an error and uploaded 7.0.1 I was hoping that it would be a silent upload and that no one downloading from the website would notice the change. But it has come to my attention that some of you were fast enough to get the original release.
Basically I had forgotten to disable the cargo for the removed M-Sport trailer, which would lead to many log errors and potentially a game crash in some circumstances.
So please do check if you downloaded from the website, that you are on 7.0.1 and not 7.0 you can do this by looking at the info screen in the mod manager.
I am curious as to which trailer you would prefer to see in the BSM in the future.
Currently we have this beautiful, but old ported trailer for the Tesco 2 trailer.
However I am thinking of replacing it with this one that uses a slightly edited SCS cool liner.
Personally I prefer the original. But if enough people like the SCS model version I may change it.
