At some point SCS updated the MAN XLX cab, I have updated the templates for these changes.
So here’s a random tidbit.
When making the Stobart rugby trailer, I had some issues when trying to use the photo of the back of the trailer I had taken. So when it came time to doing the faded, motion blur I couldn’t replicate it. The real thing is of course a rugby pitch. But rather than scour Google Images for a decent playing field image, I decided to take a picture of my back garden. Using layers and the transparency option I copied it over itself 5 times to give it length. I did look for a couple of sponsors that were relevant to the rugby league at the time (that’s the blue bits) as well to make it look like the sponsor boards at the sides.
So there you have it, the back of my Stobart rugby league trailer has a picture of my back garden on it.
Why did I tell you this? Simple really; I have seen two people who have taken my work and claimed it as their own. While I am not going to confront them about it, it sure as hell made me laugh when I saw it.
Another random tidbit.
When making the Malcolm charity skin that Stobart pulled, I had trouble finding a good picture straight on of the side. So the faded lines on the blue part became a marker to tell if any one used my skins. I intentionally made all the lines not line up with the real trailer. This means if any one tried to claim it as their own, all I would have to do is take a screen shot and super impose one over the other, if they line up, there is no way they can say they did it themselves.
So back in the early days of this mod, I was having issues with some tankers being green. This lead me to changing the default company skin to the white one with the S logo on the back, so that at least the tankers were all white. But in the last update I turned the default back to green when I added the new standalone tankers. Low and behold a green tanker kept showing up.
Well after going through thousands of jobs in the job list, I finally found the culprit. The Oil cargo. This has now been removed and added to the standalone tanker cargo.
I’ve also chosen to remove the cement cargo completely for Stokes out-going.
Yup, finally got around to updating the BSM. A few new cargo additions for tankers, an improved skin and a new “default” company skin.
Full details can be found on the “changes” page under TBSM page.
As always, give the freight market 2 game days to remove old stoke tankers and start listing new ones.
One of the final company/trailers I will be releasing is TNT.
So after fourteen and a half months, my time as a public skinner is coming to an end. For the most part this is due to running out of replica skins to make.
I live in England, as such my main focus was making skins for UK companies that I like the look of, and while I am sure there’s much more out there, I’ve come to the end of road of what I can find that I am personally interested in.
While I am happy to continue skinning on request, the public releases will be drying up. I will continue keeping mods compatible with patch/DLC releases and updating skins as I feel the need.
